Research candidates at EIT are supported through structured supervision, regular meetings, and formal progress reviews. These processes ensure that students remain on track, receive appropriate guidance, and meet academic and ethical requirements throughout their candidature. 

All supervision and progress-related expectations are governed by the EIT Research Supervision and Academic Progress Policy (HE). Students must familiarise themselves with this policy, as it outlines: 

• Roles and responsibilities of supervisors and candidates 
• Supervision arrangements and meeting expectations 
• Milestones such as Confirmation of Candidature (for doctoral candidates) 
• Progress reporting requirements 
• Procedures for managing unsatisfactory progress 
• Rights to support and appeal 

In addition to reviewing the policy, students should maintain regular communication with their supervisory team, adhere to agreed milestones, and proactively seek support when needed.
